1920s Pools of Light Necklace, 12mm Rock Crystal Orbs and Sterling Silver
Quite popular amongst the artistic and stylish women of the 1920s were these magical orbs of rock crystal. Aptly nicknamed “Pools of Light” they remarkably absorb then reflect light in a mysterious glow. Almost otherworldly they are fascinating little gems that will curiously invert any image they are held in front of. And as any collector knows the most important criteria to consider when buying “Pools of Light” is that the orbs are undrilled. The value and collectibility is in the purity of the unbroken spheres. This strand is comprised of 15 orbs which have been cleverly enclosed in a very simple sterling wire that wraps around them near invisibly. The orbs are then connected to one another by a length of sterling chain that keeps them each spaced 1/2” apart. Each orb is 12mm and the final length of the necklace is 17-1/2”. The clasp is a pierced fishhook style that is set with a little rhinestone on one side.
