Machine Age 1930s Deco Sterling and Glass Bracelet
This 1930s sterling silver bracelet is a nice example of how the Machine Age aesthetic filtered effortlessly into jewelry design. At first glance a fairly simple bracelet yet the longer you admire it the more you recognize the subtleties of the concept. Stripped of unnecessary frills the streamlined, mechanical-like links are beautiful in their simplicity. The deep red glass adds a bold, contrasting pop of color. Stamped “sterling” on the clasp. The length from end to end is approximately 7”. The width is 9/16” at the widest points. Machine age is perhaps my most favorite design movement and this bracelet is a wonderful, wearable example!
