Joseph Mazer 1959 "Maharanee" Turquoise and Pearl Bangle
This phenomenally stylish bracelet comes from Joseph Mazer’s 1959 “Maharanee” Moghul inspired collection. It is a hinged bangle with a fabulous “Florentine” texture in an 18k gold tone finish. The top half is decorated with eight little turquoise lucite cabochons and three genuine cultured pearls. From its profile you can see that the floral design supporting the pearls is raised with cut-outs providing a wonderful three-dimensional effect. The “Joseph Mazer” signature can be found discreetly stamped on the inner portion of the tongue and groove style clasp mechanism. This piece is such high quality that it could easily pass as fine jewelry. The distance from the hinge to the clasp measures 2-1/2” and the inner height on center measures 2”. The upper half is 1-1/8” at the widest point and the lower half is 5/8” at its most narrow point. An ideal fit for a 6 to 7” wrist. Any concerns about size just let me know and I’ll be happy to help! This is an exceptional collector’s piece. A rare find indeed!
