This midcentury era Etruscan revival Italian made charm is just stunning! Quite desirable charms in their day they came in many unusual shapes with a vast variety of select gemstones and women would collect as many as five or six to wear on one bracelet. This example is a four-sided dome with an oval cut garnet on each side, a fluted cap at the top and a beveled platform set with an even larger garnet on the bottom. Every surface is also embellished with traditional cannetille style wire work. The base measures 18mm across and the charm is 26mm tall. Although meant to be worn as a charm on a bracelet it’s oversized scale makes it well-suited to wear alone as a pendant on a simple chain.
