Antique Bohemian Garnet Bangle, Circa 1900 Victorian Era
Heavily encrusted with Bohemian garnets this Victorian era bracelet is so much more than beautiful! The lower half of the bangle is comprised of two rows of rose cut garnets that run parallel past the hinge and clasp to part dramatically on top. The two rows then separate to make a partial frame around an elongated diamond shaped centerpiece. This central element is bead-set edge-to-edge with even more garnets, in various sizes, with the nine largest arranged to repeat the diamond shape. The variety in sizes provides a remarkable sense of texture and depth that the dark red garnets really capture! Such a beautiful piece of jewelry with a romantic and mysterious quality. The metal is gilt with a softly worn, golden surface. The hinge is discreet and the clasp holds tightly with an audible click. There is also a small safety chain in place for added security. The top half of the bracelet north to south across the center measures approximately 7/8”. The lower half measures 5/16” wide across the two rows. The inner measurements are 2-3/16” from hinge to clasp and 1-3/4” high on center. The most comfortable fit will be on a wrist that measures between 6 and 6-3/4”. Any concerns about fit please just let me know!
