Art Deco Three Stone Diamond Ring, Platinum Circa 1920
Stunning! A sublime platinum ring, incredibly ornate from every angle! Hand carved in the 1920s and set with three gorgeous Old European cut diamonds (center .55ct H; SI and sides each .35ct G-H;SI) for a total weight of approximately 1.25 carats. Geometrically framing each diamond are slender baguette cut sapphires which total approximately .12ct. Literally every surface of the platinum is pierced or carved with either acanthus leaves, scrolls or blossoms. The open work of the gallery on the north and south sides is so beautiful and delicate like a bridge made of lace. The openings allow light to penetrate beneath the diamonds allowing them to shine as brilliantly as possible. And truth be told, in terms of brilliance these diamonds are some of the most magnificent! North to south where the ring makes a gentle curve inward the measurement is 7mm. From left to right across all three stones the ring measures 17mm. The height of the table of the center stone above your finger is 4mm. The detailed shank measures 3mm at the shoulders and tapers to 1mm at the base. Not stamped but tested for platinum and currently a size 6-1/2. Sizing is available upon request.
A recent insurance appraisal is included in the price. The report grades all stones and estimates the replacement value is approximately $6150.
