Streamline Art Deco Platinum Engagement Ring
This ring is a superb example of Streamline Moderne design! A sub-category of Art Deco, Streamline Moderne comes from the early to mid 1930s and is recognizable by the implementation of elongated, aerodynamic curves. As you can see here, the shoulders of this ring can be described as just that! Beautifully symmetrical, the three rows of three diamonds each flank the center diamond like two gorgeous wings. The end of each row has an aerodynamic curve with the center row lining up to point directly at the shank. The start of the shank on both sides has a carved detail that mirrors the same aerodynamic design as well as a simple little flower shape. The center diamond is an approximately .50ct Old European cut and is estimated as G color (near colorless) and VVS1 clarity. And the solid platinum mounting does wonders to enhance the whiteness of all the diamonds! The slightest movement of your hand and the whole ring just comes alive. It's absolutely astounding! The profile of the ring is nice and low making it comfortable for all-day every-day wear. Also the north and south sides are straight which means finding a suitable band (if you choose to do that) won't be difficult at all. The measurement north to south is 6mm and the span of the "wings" from far left to far right is 16mm. The shank measures 2mm at the start and tapers to 1mm at the base. Currently the ring is a size 7-1/2 and is sizable upon request. Hands down, this ring is a total knockout. Pretty much the perfect Art Deco engagement ring. However, we shouldn't rule out how nice it would be mixed into a stack or just as a special right hand ring!
