Vintage Mikimoto Elaborate Panel Link Bracelet
It's no wonder that this beautiful bracelet, exquisitely made and with wonderful attention to detail, boasts the most desirable name in pearl jewelry...Mikimoto! This is a vintage piece, likely from the 1930s or 1940s and it has travelled with its original, silk-lined presentation box all these years. The design is just as stunning as the pearls themselves. As is expected in Mikimoto jewelry, the pearls are remarkable. The luster is of the highest quality I've ever seen! The pearls are expertly matched and are white with a faint rose overtone. Each of the seven panels incorporates ten 4mm pearls that sit at the end of little spokes that fan out from a central 7mm pearl. Altogether there are 70 (!!) 4mm and 7 at 7mm or a final count of 77 gorgeous pearls! In addition to the individual beauty of the pearls, the smaller decorative links are worthy of a closer look as well! They have a customized shape that sits like a puzzle piece as the opposing points fit right into place between two pearl spokes. An excellent design!! And not only that but these connecting links have been stylishly engraved with tiny milgrain borders, delicate scallops and little dots. The Mikimoto signature is on the back of the clasp. The condition is excellent if not perfect. The clasp is a simple tongue and groove style, easy to put on and take off on your own. It holds tight as it should and has a small safety chain in place for added security. The width of the bracelet is 3/4" and the length is 7". This is a superb piece of jewelry. Highly prized and collectible but really quite wearable! You could certainly wear it to the office or choose to reserve it for special occasions. In fact, on that note, it would be a perfect wedding bracelet!! A gift for the bride to wear on her wedding day and for many years to come!!
